Reiki and Stress
Stress is defined as “a state of mental or emotional strain caused by adverse circumstances.”
It affects most people at some point or another. Life becomes overwhelming. Dealing with work, home, family, and everything in between, makes us feel overloaded and we struggle to cope.
Stress occurs when a person experiences heightened negative emotions such as fear and doubt, or is constantly worrying about the world around them.
As a result, they may exist in “flight or fight mode” without realising. The human body reacts to these emotions with exhaustion, low mood and often physical illness.
In simple terms, to get rid of those stress feelings, a person would need to overcome their fears and worries and “chill out”.
Ah, if only it were that easy!

In addition, when dealing with autism or adhd, the stress factor significantly increases.
First the warning signs. Then the diagnosis. The behaviour at home and at school along with finding the right school.
Next steps involve an application for a Education & Health Care Plan and ensuring “reasonable adjustments” are made, together with dealing with CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service) or their adult counterpart – because after all they are definitely adults when they get to 16.
Not to mention the benef applications such as DLA and PIP.
If you are really lucky, you may also have a job of your own!

Of course, there are several different tools that can help with stress such as meditation, visualisation, aromatherapy, and exercise such as yoga.
Reiki is also something that can help balance those rollercoaster emotions and make sure energy flows through the chakras as it should.
how to practice reiki
In a nutshell, there are three levels of Reiki that you go through to become a Reiki Master Practitioner.
When a person is first introduced to reiki, an initiation takes place called a “Reiki Attunement.” This establishes a connection between the person and Reiki energy, activated by a trained Reiki Master Teacher.
During an Attunement, the person’s energy is cleared and released, and etheric and chakra fields are strengthened so that they can receive and transmit ie channel, high frequency healing energy.
Once attuned to level 1 Reiki, the person can channel reiki to friends and family, as well as to themselves. Self-reiki is a great way to help control and support feelings of stress.
Unfortunately, not all children or adults on the spectrum like to be touched which may cause an issue.
The answer is, however, not complicated. For a change!
Because it is an energy based therapy, Reiki can be provided by distance or remotely. In other words, you don’t have to be in the same room as the person receiving, or indeed giving, the reiki. This can be a perfect solution, especially as the recipient doesn’t need to be awake!

In summary, Reiki helps a person to relieve the emotional and physical strain of stress and to restore balance to the body, soul and mind enabling them to return to a relaxed, peaceful state of being by clearing the energetic body and unblocking meridians and chakras.
